Alternative Data Analyst
We are recruiting for financial investment company established in 2001, employing over 1,000 professionals worldwide. With offices in the US, Canada, Hong Kong, the UK, and Poland, they are a leader in leveraging data-driven insights to power investment strategies.
Location: Warsaw, Poland (Hybrid: 3 days in-office per week)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Employment Contract
Role Overview:
The Alternative Data Analyst will be critical in gathering, analyzing, and leveraging non-traditional datasets to enhance the company’s investment strategies. This position involves working with vast data sources, identifying key data points, and delivering actionable insights. You will collaborate with data scientists, portfolio managers, and other analysts to help create a competitive edge through alternative data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and acquire alternative data sources to inform investment decisions.
- Clean, process, and analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate alternative data into existing investment models.
- Develop and maintain tools to automate data extraction and processing tasks.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management, clearly articulating insights derived from data.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in alternative data for finance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, with a focus on alternative or unstructured data.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data wrangling using Python (NumPy, Pandas) and SQL.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools, e.g., Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with data acquisition and processing from unconventional sources, such as web scraping, APIs, or alternative data providers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior experience in financial services or investment analytics is an asset.
