Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical lead, collaborating closely with Architects and Infrastructure Engineers to deliver top-tier infrastructure solutions. You’ll advocate for best practices and provide guidance across various technical teams.
- Infrastructure Delivery: Lead the delivery of infrastructure projects built on Kafka clusters, ensuring they meet the demands of high-load, real-time applications.
- Collaboration & Communication: Liaison between the infrastructure team and other teams, such as Product, Software Development, and Leadership. You'll regularly update them on the technical solutions being implemented and how they will benefit the organization.
- Advising Leadership: Provide strategic advice to the leadership team on how infrastructure solutions can drive innovation, scalability, and operational excellence across the organization.
- Automation & Continuous Improvement: Drive automation efforts, optimizing the efficiency of development workflows, focusing on infrastructure as code and containerization (Terraform, Kubernetes).
- Governance & Support: Ensure infrastructure stability, reliability, and scalability by enforcing governance policies and supporting ongoing operations.
- Mentorship & Team Development: Coach and mentor Infrastructure Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
You are someone with solid technical expertise in infrastructure development, combined with the ability to communicate complex solutions to non-technical stakeholders. You should also be comfortable leading infrastructure projects and working in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with event-driven architecture and handling high-load and real-time applications
- Expertise in cloud technologies (preferably AWS) and infrastructure as code (using Terraform)
- Deep understanding of Kafka for event streaming and experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Proven ability to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure solutions
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of industry experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership role
- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, cloud architecture, and resilience techniques
- Experience leading technical projects, designing infrastructure solutions, and improving internal processes
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native systems,
- Hands-on experience with Kafka,
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and developing others
Additional Information:
- This role is a remote position
- Work hours align with Polish time (CET), with weekly meetings with the team in Australia, primarily held in the mornings.
